Woo Hyun Kang
Woo Hyun Kang is a South Korean and Naarm-based artist. Her early experiences living abroad deepened her engagement with art through exposure to diverse cultures and traditional art forms.
Her practice includes mixed-media installation and expanded painting, with storytelling at its core. She examines how identity, emotion, and environment shape memory, translating personal and cultural narratives into recreated experiences. By layering elements of space, atmosphere, and personal history, she creates work that is both personal and accessible to viewers.
Kang advances her research-led practice by exploring new materials and concepts to further investigate memory, space, and embodied experience.
