Changing the Light

In her series of teddy bear paintings, Woohyun draws on a reservoir of childhood memories and the deep emotions tied to her past in different countries. As she reflects on why she travels with the teddy bear whenever she moves to different cultures and countries, she later realises that, as she grows older, the teddy bear's physical presence is no longer necessary to ease homesickness.

Hand and Memory Box reflects her transition into adulthood and separation from family. The piece captures both past and present, with surrounding elements symbolising this shift. Despite the passage of time, the teddy bear remains a deeply rooted, nostalgic memory.
