Changing the Light

In her series of teddy bear paintings, Woohyun delves into the reservoir of childhood memories and the profound emotions tethered to the past. Reflecting on why she collected teddy bears, she realised that the physical presence of a teddy bear was not necessary to alleviate the sense of homesickness when away from home. Her artwork encapsulates her past and present, with the surrounding elements symbolising the transition into adulthood. Despite the passage of time, the teddy bear remains a poignant and nostalgic memory deeply ingrained within her.
