Zine Stories We Tell
2025
Other world
Other World draws on mythological concepts of alternate dimensions, such as the Greek underworld and the mirrored realm of Narcissus, where individuals confront their reflections and navigate transformative spaces. These myths inspire an exploration of how technology creates 'liminal worlds'—in-between realms where identity is fluid, boundaries blur, and reality is redefined. A surreal virtual reality realm emerges with a tree symbolising interconnectedness and unseen networks linking us all. Its roots stretch outward, reflecting the influence and relationships that span great distances, akin to the connectivity fostered by technology. Water signifies the flow of change and the shifting boundaries between physical and digital worlds, while the mirror prompts questions about self-perception and the identities we curate for others. This work invites viewers to consider how technology shapes belonging, identity, and connection in an ever-evolving world
